There is lots of making going on here. I’m flitting from this thing to that, experimenting and trying on some ideas that have been stuck in my head for a while. Making tags for the sake of making them. Playing around in illustrator. Combining plaster and paint and inks & crepe paper simply because i have had some old cones lying around for 3 years and wanted to use them. Patchworking JBS. You know, just another day (or two or three or twelve) in the studio. I hope wherever you are you making things and enjoying the process.
i’ve been spending some time painting in the studio. last spring dina and i traveled up to washington for artfest and i took an amazing class with mindy (she’s amazing, btw). since i basically took the summer off from creating i’ve only spent one other day painting using her techniques since we got back. so on lazy day (as we love to call labor day) i spent the afternoon in the studio while the family was hanigng out playing with color, layering and then whiting everything out. finger painting at it’s best!! i had planned on making some bunnies but ended up with little people paintings instead, including the twins above. thinking these will go up in the bean’s new room, but for now i’m just playing, getting messy and seeing where the process takes me.
created with 7gypsies trousseau collection, 7gs tryptic arc kit, 7gs embellishments, hambly clear overlay, ranger crackle paint & stains, vintage findings + book papers + other odds and bits from my stash.
a little peek of the mixed media book i’m making for CHA with the product i designed. eeks!!
