the quiet holiday
we’re in day 5 of having the first round of school icks and finally fevers have broken and cranky littles have smiles returning to their sweet little faces. the man is home and still sleeping {it is his labor day holiday after all} and i have time reserved to spend out in the messy, messy, messy studio.
found these old vintage child labor photos in my vintage photo file, must have downloaded them a while ago. beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. hard to think that 100 years ago both of my children would probably be working like this for it was the necessary norm.
here’s to a glorious holiday for you and yours. and if you have to make a run to the grocery or the shops for those sales, be sure to give those who are working an extra smile. i’m sure they’d rather be home or feasting with friends on a picnic blanket instead.
happy monday.
