alameda

my amazing friend dina came up for for a girls weekend while my man was out of town and the littles were safely tucked away at team grandma’s houses. we got inky & painty in the garage on sunday, we started planning & experimenting with some things for later this fall/winter and then sunday morning we headed out to the alameda flea market as dina had never been.

oh that sweet face. this was taken at the beginning of our treasure hunting, after this it was alot of sour sad faces because everything D wanted was big & she couldn’t drag it home on the plane later that afternoon. i kept offering to “store” it for her {ie : use it as it lived with me} but it didn’t fly. next time she’s driving up.

i LOVED this huge tree stump island. seriously cool.

ran into cute shelly!

drooled over this gorgeous french beaded flower wall medallion. it was enormous, as in 2.5 high enormous and so beautiful.

these upholstered chairs were gorgeous. the dealer had a few different designs and i saw a few other dealers had similar reupholstered chairs with vintage inspired fabrics.

this booth had the most amazing furniture. all repurposed with stripped wood. every single piece was already sold, but this one was calling to me. perfect for the family room as an entertainment hutch to put the tv on. i love the battered and worn.

the same booth also had an old “gone with the wind” marquee set but i only wanted the wind part. how awesome would this be in a men’s bathroom as a hip restaurant? can you imagine the rmearks the guys would have when coming back to the table? priceless.

happy monday!

So good to run into you and to meet Dina! I know Michael, the dealer from above (the vintage chair) – he is amazing and will customize too! I bought my desk from him but it was white – he re-finished in black, and at the same time painted something else for me! He is a great person to work with! Glad you had a fun time – i got sun-burned which was strange because i was freezing the first 2 hours!

Oh you got to hang out with a scrappy friend from far away! Then you got to make stuff and then go to a flea market – I’m jealous!

haha! “i hope you didn’t break wind while you were in there” says friend when he gets back to the table.

We were going to drive up this weekend for our anniversary and to go to Alameda again since it was so cool last year. We finally decided that the cost of the trip was a little too much to justify. Seeing these photos makes me wish we had just gone for it though. :) Glad you had fun…
