How I create a print sheet from digi elements…

As you know, there are awesome Kenner Road digital kits & elements available now at 2Peas! Now, I’ve taken two (yes, two!) digi-scrapping classes, but honestly, the digi stuff just didn’t stick in my brain. I stink. However, even though I’m digi-lame, I still *adore* digital kits! Here’s why:

  • Instant gratification. I can download, print & play in minutes.
  • Ability to make custom-sized embellishments. I love that I can open a digital element and make it bigger or smaller, depending on what I want to use it for.
  • More goodies to play with!

Here’s how I use digital stuff for my regular ole paper scrapping….

1. I download the kits & extract the files.

2. I open my very, very old version (cough, cough, 3.0, cough, cough) of Photoshop Elements. I create a new Blank File that is 8.5×11 in size, with a transparent background (300 dpi).

3. I pick a digital element that I want to use and double-click on it so it opens in PSE.

4. When the element opens, I drag it onto my blank 8.5×11 document. The digi element copies onto my new document. I can resize it, and move it around.

5. I close the original digital file and open a new one. I simply repeat steps 3 and 4 and until my entire 8.5×11 document is full of digital elements. My thinking is that if I am going to print a digi element, I might as well print a whole sheet of them at one time. So essentially, I am creating my own print sheets full of custom digital elements!

6. When I’m done with the sheet, I just print it on my color printer (see cheesy photos below of actual sheet I printed using the KR digi kits). Voila! I have cool embellishments and accents to cut out and use in my paper scrapping!

So if you’re digi-lame like me, don’t worry…you can still use digital kits! In fact, you’ll fall in love with them! Now, get to downloading so you can play! :)
