autumn card tutorial with kelly goree

Card making doesn’t have to be complicated, hard or even expensive. Just a few simple supplies can produce some incredible results. For the three card set I did for Kenner Road’s October reveal, I used just a single sheet of neutral cardstock, a sheet of double sided paper, some ribbon, a couple of die-cuts and crystals. That’s it! And the best part is, once you get going you’ll find it hard to stop.

Let me take you quickly through doing one of my cards that you can replicate over and over or use as a guide to spark some creativity of your own.
The first thing I did was cut my 12”x12” kraft cardstock into three 4” strips. I then folded them in half and trimmed them up so they would measure 4”x5” and open from the bottom. I rounded the corner of all three and those became my card bases. Everything else was just a bit of quick embellishment.
Autumn Memories Card:
1. Trim strip of double-sided paper to 4”x3” and adhere across the center of the card.
2. Trim another strip of double-sided paper to 4”x1¼” and adhere with the opposite side up across the center of the card.
3. Using a scrap of black cardstock, trim a piece to measure 4”x1” and adhere to the bottom of the card. Round bottom corners
4. Trim the scalloped edge from die-cut label and adhere across card, under the largest piece of double-sided paper as shown.
5. Using a black journaling pen, draw a dashed line along the scallop strip and along the horizontal edges of the 4”x1¼” strip.
6. Wrap ribbon around the middle of the card and tie in a bow at the left edge.
7. Add a crystal to the bow using a jump ring.
8. Add die-cut label to center of card using dimensional dots.
And that’s it! Have fun creating your own!

When I saw these in the gallery on reveal night, I thought they were so elegant and gorgeous! We don’t have Thanksgiving over here (Australia) but I wish we did, I adore Thanksgiving decorations I see in my travels around the web this time of the year and the color combination’s are so warm and yummy! I may have a play with my KR goodies and see if I can make some like these but with a Christmas theme. Thank you so much for the inspiration, I have been stuck on this year’s Christmas cards!! xo
