keeping it simple…

and making it stretch! one of my favourite things about the kenner road kits is the fact that they are full of little bits and bobs and beautiful pattern papers that beg for homemade embellishment additions.

she is

so i kept my page simple to focus on my photo’s….some recent favourites of mine…and used duplicated (or mirrored)embellishments to help bring your eye to the heart of the matter….the photo’s and add visual impact and balance.

i used a small circle punch to punch out 2 circles, a butterfly punch to punch out 2 butterflies. i adhered the butterflies to the punched circles with pop dots….and done! my own custom embellishments courtesy of the beautiful papers in this months kit. and, of course, a great way to use up scraps and extend the life of your papers and kit :)

i created a quick little border with the crepe paper by folding it to make pleats and cut it in half lengthwise to create 2 borders. i love this crepe paper….this is a great way to make it stretch and last longer ;)

i also dug into past kits and used some left over embellishments…straight pin, buttons, and chipboard flower. so i divided my embellishments up on opposing corners of my photo’s so that each cluster mimicked the other.

last…i used the extra dots from the chipboard and rub on alpha in the kit to add a little bit extra to each embellishment cluster. i love finding ways to use those bits on alpha sheets that tend to get ignored or left out :)

add a title and you have a quick and simple page that is full of embellishment eye candy and makes the most of your kenner road kits!!!

have a fabulous friday and weekend everyone!!!

Happy Itty Bitty Tag books

Hello everyone! Debee here ready to share a recent favorite tag book project. These little happy itty bitty tag books are wonderful and so easy to make. Once you have finished this project you will be ready to add these little guys to birthday presents, mail one off to a friend or just fill them up with pictures of your little one to share with friends and loved ones. They are sweet and simple :) I LOVED using the KR Farmhouse Main Kit + Country Road Add-on + Old School Add-on to create these cuties.

I came up with this idea after attending several birthday parties and having to look for the dreaded card to match the gift. I LOVE the little tags because you can personalize them to fit perfectly. And it’s very unique, you know for sure nobody else is going to show up with the exact same card :)

Let’s do this.
Supply List:
- KR August Farmhouse Main Kit + Country Road Add-on + Old School Add-on kits
- Tag punch + any other punch you have on hand
- Hole punch
- Glue
- Eyelets

-Eyelet setter

- Regular lined paper

- Scissors

Step One: Choose from your favorite papers in the kits. Using the tag punch to cut tags out of both the papers in the kit and the regular lined paper. Punch out 2 tags of the same pattern. You will need 2 for every little tag book. And punch out extra tags from the regular lined paper. (I used 5 papers per little book= 40 papers total to make 8 books)

Step Two: Punch out extras using punches you already have and extra papers in the add-on kits. I used an oval punch, butterfly punch and a circle punch. You will use these to embellish your tag covers in a bit.

Step Three: Sandwich your 2 tag papers in between 3- 5  lined paper tags. (Remember not to add to many papers as you will need to fit an eyelet to hold the little book together.)

Step Four: Punch a hole through the top of the tags and insert the eyelet. Use your cropodile or eyelet setter to set the eyelet into place.

Step Five: Cut a piece of ribbon 5-8 inches in length and loop it through the eyelet and tie loosely.

Step Six: Embellish the tag using the chipboard, brad and flair embellishments found in the kit. You’re finished! Yay! Now you have some cuteness to give away :)

Love to you all,

-Debee
