Cute puffy greeting cards…

Did you see the adorable vintagey animal playing card fabric in the add-on? I immediately thought it would be super-cute to make a set of puffy cards with the fabric…you could give them as a gift, or use them as invitations for a summery get-together.

To make the card, I put one of the fabric prints onto a piece of cardstock and sewed around 3 sides. I stuffed some batting into the fabric pouch, and then sewed the last side shut. I layered the puffy fabric piece onto a simple, quick card.

ADDON_sub

I’ve had alot of emails today asking for some more information about our new embellishment add-on subscription kit which will be offered tonight when our kits go live at 9pm pacific.

Designed to expand our main kit, or be combined with any of our other add-on kits, we will now offer each month an embellishment add-on kit via subscription or one time purchase.

July’s embellishment kit is being offered as a one time purchase to everyone at the introductory subscription price of $24. during the June reveal. If you like what you see head on over to the subscription page {{here}} after our July kits go live at 9pm this evening to sign up**. Subscriptions will begin billing with our august release, your first bill charge will be on august 14th.

Please note that subscribing to this add-on kit will guarantee that you receive the embellishment add-on kit each month, without having to order it on reveal night {it works exactly like our main kit subscriptions}. Please also note that contents of this kit will vary each month {just like the main kit} but the embellishments will always coordinate with the main kit and will always contain at least one kenner road exclusive item as well as the vintage treasures you love us for.

** Embellishment subscriptions will be at a discounted price of $24. per month and will always ship free with a main kit subscription. Single purchases will also be made available per month but prices will vary depending on contents and will be higher than the subscription price.

i’m putting you to work…

to make a chore chart to put your kids to work!

tristan's chore chart

franki's chore chart

i’ve been wanting to make chore charts for both my children for quite some time. i thought the little label stamps from the Occidental Road add-on kit were perfect for this!

i first made a blank “master copy” of my chart:

blank chore chart

i didn’t really align or measure the placement of my stamps. i wanted a more “handmade” look & just did it free-hand.

i scanned & saved the master copy to my computer that way i wouldn’t have to break out my stamps every time i needed a new weekly sheet!

*tip*- i printed out a whole bunch of copies at once so they would be handy ;)

i then made a “background board” using a children’s vintage book cover & used ric-rac & string to make the “slots” where my weekly charts will slip in.

easy peasy!

any questions?

post ‘em here & i’ll get back to you as soon as i can!

hope you’re having a wonderful sommer & not working too hard.

be sure to tune in tomorrow night for the july reveal!!!
