Be my guest…

Years ago I heard a story about a university professor who often had students over to dinner in his home. He and his wife entertained groups of students every week, enjoying their company and encouraging their futures. Before the students would leave, the professor would have them sign their names in his coat closet–the closet was literally covered with signatures. I think that is so cool…to open your home to so many people, and to let them leave their mark.

You may not want people signing the walls of your home, but here’s a quick & easy project you can make…a little guest book! Keep it out on your coffee table for guests to sign and comment in when they come to your home. I kept mine pretty simple, but you could make your book as elaborate as you like.

I really want to make a “yearbook” of sorts for a scrapbook convention I am going to next week. I am going to finally meet lots of my “blogging” friends.
    Thanks for the idea, Dina!

The best thing when we go on vacation at this beach house is reading the comments in the guest book. Looking back at the years of joy that one home gave others was a blessing. Why not do it at home? The everyday should be remembered too!
